The Body

I have celebrated my physical being in different ways for many years. As a young person I participated in performance dance and studied anatomy and physiology. Later, as I raised my children, I taught cardio kickboxing at my son’s Tae Kwon Do studio. The deepest dive has come from my 20 plus years of study, practice, experience and teaching of yoga where I became a 500-hour certified teacher and went on to train others to become professionals. The yoga experience has led me from a place of understanding the body to a place of knowing it on several levels — beyond the physical.

My passion for food in cooking, baking and feeding others shines the brightest light on how I want to spend my time nourishing the body. Yes, food is medicine and that which provides fuel to the physical, but for me, it’s also a vehicle of nurturing, community and connection to the earth. If I’m honest, I really just love the delicious adventure of it all! To this end, I attended culinary school simply to hone my skills after a lifetime of baking and created a mini-tart pastry business to share my culinary creativity where Sweet Jane was born.

The Mind

As I like to say over and over to my students when I teach consciousness workshops, “The mind has a mind of its own.” I have found that to manage the mind I need to understand how to tame its ego and also recognize its superior strengths. I have come to celebrate the mind through its limitless capacity for creativity. The beauty of living long enough is that I can look back on my life experiences and write about them with the intention of sharing a moment with others which has led me to my series of life guides, The Accidental Caregiver Series: Helping Others Without Losing Yourself.

The Soul

I produced a series of guided relaxation downloads after completing trainings in the I AM Yoga Nidra lineage. In addition to regular meditation, the tools extracted from the yoga practice have become invaluable practical applications for my own life and for those who attend my circles of teaching. I go inside and connect to that which is beyond the body, beyond the mind and plug into something much more expansive which creates a feeling I can only describe as love.
